Bullying: The Problem

Here at Hudson, we are trying to maintain a safe environment for every student to learn. It is our mission for every student to feel comfortable within the hallways of our schools. Currently the district is conducting the following events/activities:
  • A School Bullying Policy to be incorporated along with the Code of Conduct
  • Character Education lessons taught in classrooms
  • The Hudson Junior High will sponsor "Bullying Prevention Month" in February 2011. Throughout the month, each subject area will tackle behaviors and types of bullying with the students, staff and parents. We will be teaching students how to identify, deal with, and combat - Bullying.
  • The MCS Intermediate School hosted the "B-Bomb Show" this is a new, unique theatrical event that takes on bullying through the power of participatory storytelling and drama.
  • The After School Program participates in many anti-bullying workshops and activities.
  • School-wide Positive Behavioral Intervention & Support Teams (PBIS) are established in every building and are helping students and faculty create a climate in which appropriate behavior is the norm through rewarding students on a daily basis who are "caught" following the rules.
